With a weedth of a thread of a spider's web

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Wandsworth.

David and Gosia visited Mr E in Wandsworth to help him tidy up his garden, mainly to pull up weeds growing in the garden bed next to the birdhouse.

GG runners were here a few months ago (Mr E said that they did a fantastic job!) so it all looked already really nice and tidy. Since their visit though the weeds managed to grow back, despite securing the space with few layers of fabric and a stone chipping.

The task was quite straightforward, the challenges we faced were: evenings getting darker (David had a top class headtorch that helped us survived) and ... spiders hiding in the dark (Mr E asked us to be really careful because they bite! Argh!).

We started the work straight away, inch by inch successively removing an impressive crowd of little, pesky inhabitants. These were still quite young and very thin plants so it was easy to pull them up along with roots; hopefully, this should slow them down if they ever decide to appear here again. After tidying up the garden bed we expanded our ‘task area’ and removed weeds squeezing between pavement blocks.

Mr E. thanked us for the help but he hasn’t managed to see the results in full, as it was already dark when we finished the task. After the mission, we ran back to BAC where we met GG Wandsworth group finishing their weekly run.
