Tonights Goodgym adventure involved a different kind of guerilla gardening with the always smiling Marian. Rather than planting things or shifting soil / compost, we spend some time decorating some of her favourite locations. At the first spot we hang a lovely artwork on the wall (see group pic) - a piece of slate with tools in the shape of a tree - a great representation of the Community Gardeners! The next location got a frame hung on the wall so Marians friend there can hang a birdfeeder on the hook. We ran out of time, so we will return to hang a few more another evening soon! Note: all work was done under expert guidance of a qualified maintenance engineer.
Having dropped off the tools back at base, the team went for a run to round off the busy evening. Returning to our little home there were some delicious home-made treats waiting, created by our in-house patiserie master Sharon, made in celebration of me reaching the 300 task milestone the other day - and yes I did share the treats, was only hogging them for the picture, honestly!
Great to see Beth back again, hope your cold is sorted soon! Thanks to Sharon for the banner & treats & little Aloe Vera plants to share! And thanks to Beth & Linda for the pics, John & James C for the tool transport - great team work!
Next week James P will be back, barring any more travel issues. Maybe we go back to finish the birdfeeder hooks, maybe a different surprise from James. Whatever it is we will have fun!
P.S... James did go a bit Wild West, anyone got a cowboy hat for him? ;-)
Run by Marian this group helps take unloved patches of land in Wanstead and Snaresbrook and turn them into beautiful patches of flowers and plants.
