6 runners weeded round trees in the street to help Wanstead community gardeners

Today's task was to help Wantead community gardeners (Particularly Marion) literally make Wanstead a brighter place to live. Their job is to make all those places we walk past every day look a little nicer. from planting on roundabouts to keeping communal gardens on the high street tidy. Our task was to help weed around some trees so that wild flowers could be added to the base of the trees planted at the side of the road.

Newbie Laura joined us for the first time and alongside the rest of the crew we managed to get the task completed in double quick time. Tina then led us on a run round the area whilst Peter completed the job of removing an over grown plant from the garden.

We didn't quite make it back before the rain came but we probably missed the worst of it as we stretched and discussed the task for next week.

James will be returning to lead you to Illford for another adventure in running!
