The Quayside really showed its beauty off tonight for our Group Run! As a group of kayakers took to the Tyne for a night cruise (yes, really!) we met armed with bags and litter picks on a perfect autumn night.
We met Sara for the very first time as she came to give GoodGym a go- go and give her a big cheer! Aimee had a very impressive warm up run to the start area, while Neil took it easy ahead of the Yorkshire marathon this weekend and Charlotte and I nursed various injuries and walked.
It was good to see a few usual litter hot spots were looking a little clearer, but venturing to the road side we found a few untidy areas to clear up in no time at all. Four bags were filled pretty quickly, with the weirdest item of the night going to Aimee who found a Halloween web decoration complete with fake spider! Neil bagged an extra good deed, giving people directions to Newcastle arena.
It was a tame kind of fitness session with multiple games of Rock Paper Scissors complete with short exercises at the end of each round.
A super start to the week and a nice feeling to be back after my knee surgery!
