Mission

We got ever so attached...

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Wandsworth.

2 Goodgymers enjoyed ideal running weather to get to Mrs R’s place in Roehampton and got to work on bringing a small but heavily overgrown front garden under control. Armed with loaned secateurs, some flimsy black plastic bags and in one case brand new gardening gloves, the undaunted GGers dived in to a task which mainly consisted of tackling the hundreds of brambles which had taken possession of Mrs R’s garden. What seemed not too onerous a task at first soon proved itself to be a little more Herculean than imagined as the mountain of spiky snakes grew higher and higher.

And we did get attached. To the brambles that is. Like a nightmare scene from day of the triffids they seemed to coil tentacles around us and dig their spines in - producing sporadic yelps from one of the taskers, who took his brand new gardening gloves back to the shop straight after the mission!

Mrs R was very pleased, as were the GGers to have fought the rambling brambles and won. All in a day’s work for Goodgym 😊
