On Wednesday the 23rd the GoodGymmers in Bristol shook the cobwebs from the Easter bank holiday and took the streets of Bristol to burn some excessive and chocolate induced calories! This week, we were needed in St Werburgh’s which is a hugely popular residential area and eco-friendly community and gave us an excuse to pass through the ever-entertaining Bearpit and Stokes Croft.

This week, the usual leader Chris B was unable to make the session so Chris L and Olivia co-lead the team with Chris’s fantastic navigational skills getting the group over to St Werburgh’s farm to meet Karri the project leader. After a good 3k run over to the farm we were hit by the peaceful environment of the farm with real life pigs in a pen!

We didn't have much time to appreciate doing nothing as we were soon gloved up and ready to carry heavy wood over to Boiling Wells site. The delivery drivers are unable to access Boiling Wells because of a low bridge, so the best way to transport all of the wood is by foot (or, if you’re Chris, by wheelbarrow). Boiling Wells (contrary to it’s name) is not boiling, it’s very green and is incredibly scenic with man-made wooden constructions dotted everywhere. There’s an outdoor theatre used for events which is why we were there to help ahead of a big event on the 1st of May.

It wasn't long before we had to head back through a scenic single file path leading us back to the city centre in no time. All in all, a great mid-week challenge!
