Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Windsor and Maidenhead runner
I went to see Mrs D for her first social visit today. What a remarkable lady! She suffers from over a dozen serious ailments (I don't mean sniffles or rash but the debilitating kind) and yet has no time for a moan. She takes it all on the chin and maintains her sense of humour!
She casually mentioned that she calls her mobile oxygen tank "Herbert". In that moment I knew she's a lady after my own heart 💜
Such an inspiration with so much positivity, Mrs D is a proper trooper! I thought I was doing something nice for world kindness day but she taught me a few things about real kindness. I'll cherish those stories and will be going back for more!

Aww what a lovely report xx The matter-of-fact reference to Herbert the tank was the best thing I've heard today!

Well done, Kanika! I think that all Mrs D's have something in common: sheer determination and a good sense of humour! 👏

You might be onto something there Georgeta 🤔 maybe we should change our names to Danika and Deorgeta for later life 🤭

What a lovely report Danika! So inspiring. We had oxygen tanks for Oscar when he was a tiny baby and his lungs were still developing. Wish it had occurred to us to name them! x
