A blustery, damp Sunday morning was the setting for the second ever Bristol GoodGym community mission.

Running from locations across town, Danica and Liam arrived slightly before Fi who was once again navigating Bristol’s streets on two wheels, and at the mercy of Google Maps. Saffron, one of the organisers, greeted the GGers and provided them with some wonderful grabbing sticks and bin bags of various colours.

The area is a hidden nature reserve but this secluded spot has unfortunately been used as a tipping hotspot in recent months, so their task was to remove the soggy litter and make the place look less like the aftermath of Reading or Leeds festival.

A dazzling array of litter and random bits and bobs were removed from near the entrance, so the GoodGymming trio followed the path up to the moon temple, where brambles were being cut back by other volunteers.

A pleasant wander along the path ended with another treasure trove of litter at the other entrance to the reserve. Fi spotted what she thought was the partially-submerged face of a bear, but after further investigation by Liam this turned out to be a tiny cuddly toy with a HUGE nose, and not a bear’s face at all...

... maybe you had to be there..

After an hour and a half, several bags were full and they parted ways to carry on with their Sunday afternoons.

Wouldn’t let me upload all of the images at once, annoyingly. I gave up and watched a film but I’ve just added a few more pics, including the original “is that a bear’s FACE?” photo.
