In the words of Abraham Lincoln ‘we can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses’

So alas Rich and I rejoiced as we arrived at our mission location to tackle some rather overgrown thorny bushes on this fine Sunday morning.

Ok it wasn’t a rose bush but it was a very thorny Pyracantha (Rich’s favourite bush!), large thistles and some lovely brambles to trim.

We got to work trimming and chopping. Also managing to chat to some local lads who were wondering why we did this for fun and for free! Well it’s great it to volunteer to help people out we told them and sometimes the best things in life are free. Bit of a thorny issues it seemed for them to understand!

After seven thorn filled bin bags later the hedges looked much better. And our mission was complete.

We were just Thorn to Be Wild today.
