Richard and I answered the call from the local hospital discharge team this lunchtime to facilitate the return home from hospital for Mr M by moving some furniture.

First it was off with the legs of the sofa which we then managed to manoeuvre up the narrow staircase around the corner onto the landing and into the spare bedroom.

Mr M needs space downstairs for a hospital bed and chair to be installed, so we were also tasked with moving a cabinet upstairs also. The cabinet looked to be in 4 parts but all joined together and we spent some time trying to discover how to disassemble these, finally finding a catch, by torchlight, at the top of each section. Releasing each of the catches we were able to split the cabinet up into manageable pieces and move these upstairs also, leaving plenty of space downstairs to enable Mr M to come home. Nice one!
