Sometimes, just sometimes, you wonder why you're getting up at 07.30 on a Sunday morning, its been raining and blowing a gale most of the night, and you've signed up to Volunteer at Junior Parkrun. To cap it all you're Tail Walker and really you need more than a running jacket and trainers. Wellies really were the order of the day but no, trainers it was but i did wear my waterproof wax coat. on arrival Susie the RD had arrived and set out the course. The rain was still falling, more volunteers arrived, including Rebecca, we waited for the Juniors to arrive..... would anyone? with 5 minutes to the start time, 5 VERY hardy juniors smiled through the drizzle and after a warm up (ha ha) they were off, followed by this dripping Goodgymer. This is why we volunteer, 5 excited juniors, despite the conditions, got out of bed to participate in an activity that keeps them fit in body and mind, with a smile on their faces. Junior Parkrun is great. It stopped raining as we walked home ...
