This weeks community fridge task was a massive one, with the bank holiday yesterday the shops had a pile of donations for us.

106kgs!!!! So much food we had to use a car! Waitrose giving us 90kgs of that, with local co-ops contributing to the rest. Lucy and I certainly got a weight workout moving all the stock. As you can see from the pictures, it didn't all fit in the fridge!

We rescue surplus food from supermarkets across the city and give it away to all via a publicly accessible fridge in Exeter Library in order to reduce food waste.

As above. We need volunteers to pick up surplus food from designated businesses and drop it off at the Community Fridge. Quantities of food can vary but we will aim to match individual volunteers to particular pick-ups. Pick-ups are usually in the morning and the fridge is open during library opening hours. We are primarily a sustainability initiative.
