Portsmouth

Mission

Swim and sauna

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Portsmouth.

Mrs A showed us around her garden and said that the biggest impact we could have would be to clear the brambles out of the greenhouse and pick up some of the rotten apples from the ground.

We set to work with Ellie inside the greenhouse and me at the back trying to prevent more things growing into the greenhouse. Ellie had been a little cool post sea swim but with a bit of sunshine and glass she felt like she was having a sauna whilst gardening.

My mum (who lives next door) started picking raspberries and ended up staying for the whole hour helping out. Sign her up for GoodGym! My nephew was also talking to us through the hedge and fetching extra bags... Future GG member.

As well as a clear greenhouse (mostly Ellie's work!), we also filled 5 bags with clippings and put 3 big bags of apples into the compost.

As a thank you, Mrs A gave us some apples she'd picked off the tree. Lovely!
