Sunday stories

1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Windsor and Maidenhead.

Mrs. M had taken out some old photos to show me; as we looked through each, she told me their stories. I was particularly interested in her husband's photo during the war. With her permission, I took this photo (and blurred the face for privacy).

As I looked at the B&W photo of him looking handsome in his uniform with a cigarette in his hand, standing in front of a truck with a broken windshield, she told me how he worked on the Flame Thrower and took a bullet in his side. Fascinating tales of a dreadful war.

So many stories to choose from in her long life, this is why I cherish these social visits so much.
