We started by looking to see what needed doing. It was a small garden but plenty to do. We surveyed the situation together to work out what needed doing and what tools she might need to get. She had borrowed a manual lawnmower which needed adjusting but got it working after a bit of tinkering. The re was an overgrown bush that I trimmed back and cut down all the thistles. We bagged up the clippings together so was great that she joined in by holding the bag open for me. Having grown up in York we talked about how York had changed and shared our love of Southbank.
