- Saturday, 10th of September 2016
Ahoy me hearties,
This day six brave souls set sail fer Pomphery Hill Parkrun, th' the weather she was a kind one, bein' neither too steamin' nor to wet. th' course was rollin' more than th' high seven seas in th' middle 'o a ferocious storm. 'n included a climb up Pomphery hill higher than th' riggin' to th' crow’s nest, 'n thar were many other landlubbers to give a go' 'n stop us gettin' to th' treasure first.
Quartermaster Jordan was th' first to spy wit' ye eye th' Jolly Rodger at th' end 'o th' journey 'n get his treasure, then "Captain Hook" Haughton appeared at th' finish line as if she had sailed th' Black Pearl sin'le-handedly (she really did appear from nowhere!) I was next into harbour recoverin' from me great 49 mile adventure just last week across th' deep southern Mendip oceans, then came young deck-hand laddie Guest accompanied by First matey Slee, 'n finally came “BootStrap” Rich Giddings - the scallywag!.
After bein' given our pieces 'o eight, 'n then smugglin' our plunder to th' barcode scanners, we quickly raided th' table 'o cakes, 'n then sailed off on another adventure.
Fer some we heard th' sirens call 'o a task in Bath, others chose to stay safe in port 'n returned to their homes.
Commodore Garnett - Pirate King of the Brethren Court of the nine pirate lords.
