Our visit to the Richmond Furniture Scheme saw five Good Gymer’s ready to deliver and rise to the challenge that Simon of RFS would present us with.

We were tasked with clearing the ivy and sand bags, the latter had been been there for the past few years. This clearance was so that RFS could begin to get access around the side of the building.

We set about chopping back the ivy and roots with large loppers, which yours truly and Sam used, before subsequently using synchronised spades to remove the excess sand, this was mainly done by JP and Chris, and through clever thinking from Rosie, deliver it onto the furniture removal trolleys.

Credit must also go to Rosie for the amazing pun!

Anyway, following numerous back and forth trips and through a lot of hard graft, we were eventually successful in removing the sand and deliver what was asked. A job well done

Welcome to Richmond Furniture Scheme. Your local furniture recycling charity based in Twickenham, where you can find good value for money and quality second-hand furniture! Richmond Furniture Scheme is a small charitable organisation set up to help people in need by collecting donated furniture in good condition from the Richmond borough area and reusing it. A small charge is made to those people that are referred. But to ensure that all donated furniture is reused, and to help make the Scheme more self-sufficient, the Scheme is open to sell furniture to all people residing in the Richmond Borough.
