Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Two run reports for the price of one this week - thanks to Lisa Stewart and Charlotte Bradford!
I arrived fashionably late to GoodGym last night, so unfortunately for the rest of the group, they were made to do some lunges and squats, whilst I did a speed change in the loo at the arch gallery. Not sure who ended up getting the best warm up at the end of those 3 minutes!
We took a gentle jog led by Anna, XX and myself to Stepney City Farm, where we worked in the dark to make the pigs and sheep happy. Half the group went to the pig and sheep pens to do their housework for them, raking and tidying - and of course the obligatory “barrow-lympics” - racing the wheelbarrows full of hay, compost and other waste round to the compost areas in relay.
The rest of us went to the kitchen gardens… this little piggy (and eight others!) cried “weed, weed, weed, weed”; all the way home round the vegetable plots.
Our reward came (unusually) before extra punishment at the end… we got to stroke and pet the farm rabbits, who were very cute. That was before Tom dragged us away and beasted us on a hill sprint session through Mile End park: 4 reps of sprinting up a small hill and a gentle job back down again. Killer!
Finally a nice gentle jog home, along the canal back to the Arch and here end the nursery rhymes.
Thus end the nursery rhyme. Everyone get to bed!

This Monday's GoodGym had 3 of my top ‘Monday Blues Busters’... running, doing a good deed and CUTE ANIMALS! Yip, we were off to Stepney City Farm again.
The session got off to a slow start with a few late-comers rushing in. Thankfully though, Tom kept us all entertained with some dating stories and an intense warm up on the street (cheered on by some bemused passers-by).
Once we were all ready, we winded through the streets of East London and on to Stepney City Farm to get started with our task. Katherine had lined up some weeding and raking for us to do and, despite the darkness closing in, we picked up our tools and got straight down to it!
Split in to two teams, one tackled the weeding in the allotments and the other crept in among the animals to tidy up their homes. I found myself in the pig pen and they were right up for a sniff and a pet. Never fail to make a new buddy at GoodGym!
When we'd finished the task and had a pet of some more cute animals (fluffy rabbits this time), Tom dragged us away to a slightly less appealing task... Hill reps!
Despite some moans and groans to start, we jogged over to the biggest hill in Mile End Park and pounded up it with all the energy we had. FOUR times. Then with a sweaty glean on our faces we made our way along the canal and back to base for a stretch.
Another great GoodGym session clocking up over 6k, some hill reps and a dose of cute animals for good measure.
