In our efforts to promote GG Barnsley under its new leadership, and help it rise from the ashes like a phoenix, members from several GG areas came to help out with Barnsley Parkrun. I had organised with the Run Director to get a special shout out for advertising purposes before the run which was helpful. She also mentioned the fact that I was wearing a cape to draw attention to myself and people should say hi to me on the way round and have a chat, which quite a few people did. The cape was especially popular with the kids being pushed in running buggies!

We were glad to be graced by people from 4 different GG areas to assist us with our Parkrun takeover, including the Area Activator from Leeds who ran AND volunteered. Jackie had travelled to run from York, James from Barnsley, and Rachel from Sheffield.
