Mrs D gave us excellent instructions for our mission.

Cut EVERYTHING down to ground level

..except the hydrangea. All well and good but she gave me a pair of scissors and Vikki a pair of secateurs.

Vikki's version of ground level was different to mine, I think I was being a bit conservative but she was really going for it and her bit looked neater so I followed suit.

Mrs D was togged up again the rain with a winter jacket and was pruning all the bits she could do from a standing position.

There were multiple compressions of the green bin and finally we had to admit defeat, it was full.

There's just that one little section left!

Mrs D called it a day as she didn't want a rogue pile of green waste in her lovely tidy garden and we were very damp by this point so Vikki had to leave the last tiny bit for next time.
