A beautiful warm sunny morning greeted Charlie and myself as we made our separate ways over to the west side of the city to help out Mrs I in her garden.

After a nice chat with Mrs I, we cracked on with the task of finishing off the weeding of the side of her front garden and a general tidy up of the small beds and flagstones out front and adding some compost, to enable her to plant some new flowers - great work from Charlie in this regard who was moving on to her parents house later to do more of the same!

A good solid couple of hours work this morning, stopping occasionally to chat with Mrs I who was clearly enjoying our company and we were most grateful for the tea and cake that she provided to keep us going.

As she was outside with us, some friends who were passing and hadn't seen her for three years, spotted her in the garden and came in for a chat, which really made her day - a real case of one thing weeds to another!!

Also calling in was her granddaughter which clearly thrilled Mrs I and it was lovely to experience her joy.

All in all a great morning - some good work done, a tidy looking garden, a very happy Mrs I, a nice run and some glorious weather - what's not to like!
