The weather forecast was for rain, so it was with some trepidation that Pauline, Rowan and Mat joined Jesse, Tom and Stuart as the 6 front runners, taking 6 blind or partially sighted people for a cycle ride on tandem bikes. And what an amazing group of people we took out, some really nervous, and why wouldn’t they be? For some it was their first proper trip out in 18 months. But it was lovely to see how super-chuffed they were at having done it.

This was the second time we have ventured out with Bradbury Fields and we cycled to a great coffee shop called Yew Tree Farm Coffee Shop. The rain held off and the sun came out and so we sat outside and all drank and ate a lovely meal amongst chickens and alpacas. Then it was back on the bikes and homeward bound. We covered just under 20 miles in total.

There are plans to do more of these. So to anyone thinking of joining in please do, as you will be giving a blind or partially sighted person a chance to get some exercise, and have a fun morning out. And if you’re super competent they have a triple bike and even a quadruple one, but we’re not quite at that level yet.
