On a dark, wet and uninspiring evening, Southampton GoodGym headed to City Farm to tackle a mountain of compost. While the weather was doing its best to dampen spirits, we weren't going to let a little rain get in the way of some quality muck-moving! Armed with shovels and plenty of enthusiasm, we dug deep and got digging. The compost heap didn't stand a chance as we cleared it one shovelful at a time. Despite the darkness, everyone managed to keep their composture, even when faced with what seemed like a never-ending pile. By the end of the session, we'd shifted a huge amount of compost. It wasn't the most glamorous evening, but it was certainly one to make us feel mulch better about the world!

It will help us to keep the garden thriving and looking good, which should in turn help us to attract more volunteers.
