Early Friday morning I joined Marta on the Isle of Dogs for a mattress moving mission, where we were tasked with swapping a mattress from the top floor with a mattress on the ground floor, which involved two flights of stairs in the way.

Getting the first mattress downstairs was nice and straightforward as we relied heavily on gravity in a controlled manner to get the double mattress down the stairs with a bit of manoeuvring around the corners.

Once that was firmly established downstairs we tackled the other mattress which was considerably heavier and less pliable. Undeterred we made excellent use of the handles on the side and after some initial struggles we quickly settled on a 1-2-3 countdown followed by a heave-ho to make steady progress up the flights on stairs.

We wrapped up the rapid task with Marta cleaning a solitary window along with a quick dusting down of a few lampshades to help brighten up the place a little bit too.
