As toasty as it is in our homes outside of late has been how shall we put it… chilly, freezing, cutting maybe even chapping. If I think of any other words to describe the temperature out there I will be sure to let you know.

Our task last night was to head out into the cold for an ever so short jaunt and join a local homeless charity Rhythms of Life who help those in need. On arrival just off Oxford Street we would have 40 minutes to sort through bags upon bags upon bags of jackets that had been donated to the charity.

We were asked to separate the bags firstly into piles of men’s and women’s clothes, then once that was done sort them into piles that were ready for resale to raise funds for the charity, a pile that could be given out strait away and a pile that would need steam cleaning before being given out.

And we were off. This week we were joined by a group of RDCYoungers who have only been running for a few weeks now. Thanks to Ellie for bringing some extra hands and to the young people for bringing lots of youthful energy.

Anyhow, with all these extra pairs of hands this task wouldn’t take long so we set about the task at hand. We split into teams and danced to the 80s funk that was pumping its way out the stereo and embraced what this festive season is all about. Giving…..

35minutes later there was one bag left to do. With 2 minutes to spare we were finished.

We were thanked offered coats for our selves, food and drink and finally applause for our efforts. A great task to finish off what has been a great year.

We left with smiles on our faces and headed off into the city in search of dead ends where we would have one last set of relays, sprints and drills.

Thankyou all for your time and for helping us introduce GoodGym to Westminster.

Have a great Christmas and New Year and please continue to do small things with great love… See you on the 7th January for our first session of 2015….
