Every week I have the pleasure of watching some amazing peolple do awesome deeds. This week saw us return to where GG Richmond kicked off. So those that were there that night can remember what a huge sprawling task this was and still is.

Despite this, tonight I saw a small team of 11 make such a mammoth task dwarf in very little time. The focussed energy and commitment from each runner was so inspirational that even a passer by walking a dog wanted to join in.

The more magic we conjure up each week in Richmond the more people seem to want to be involved and it's so good to be able to be part of it.

Our run tonight was not as long as last weeks but what it lacked in distance it made up for in its intensity with a grand hill starter (which was greeted warmly by all especially as a couple had expressed there desire to avoid hills tonight.) With this in mind the hill sprints that followed were at first frowned upon, just a little, and the run trainer wondered if people would ever talk to him again; but man you should have seen each and every runners face as they completed the last climb. Simply glowing we were in Richmond and with a great sense of achievement we carried our energies into the weeds.

NOTE – It has to be stated here that wthese are no ordinary little weeds that look a little tatty on the river edge and even though I have not been to the amazon jungle one can't imagine it being more dense than this part of Richmond was. MAN EATING WEEDS these were, and guarded too by fields of nettles that suprisingly can sting through the leggings, so do consider people if ever you attack the himalayan balsam again that perhaps we need layers.

Tonight though we setttled for spit and dock leaves and soldiered on making gaps in the bush for the prettier native plants along the river to breathe and grow.

There was some debate over whether guiness was a better cure for stings than dock leaves but in the bush we had to make do with what we had – Those that tried the guiness option later please report back to the group which was more effective.

Our return run back to Wholefoods took our mind of our wounds as we gazed on the sunsetting backdrop sky behind Richmond bridge and river ….. Hmmm actually the super smoothie courtesy of Wholefoods and the great snacks generously supplied by our Graze runners probably helped the most to be honest mmmm so delicious!

Thanks you guys for another great run – watch out for some photos on the report and twitter etc!! And we look forward to Thomas getting Richmond onto the Facebook scene.

Till then we are dog tired at the headquarters in Richmond.

See you next Monday
