On Tuesday night Naomi, Tracey, Gwyn and Rachel walked just over 4km on a litter picking session at Darley Park, making the most of the lighter evenings now the clocks have changed. It was great to see lots of walkers, dog walkers and rowers from Derwent Rowing Club enjoying the park and river.

A few cans and bottles were found along with some chewed up dog toys and a football, Tracey found a Croc which matched her jacket but sadly we didn't find the other one to make a pair. Maybe the most surprising find of the night was a champagne flute hidden in some bushes, this was near to a pub just outside Darley Park so Tracey left it on a wall to be claimed. There was a large area of rubbish on the boundary of the park from fly-tipping which Naomi had already reported to Derby City Council to clear up - the group's litter pickers and bin bags just wouldn't stand up to the job.

The group saw Derwent Runners on their Tuesday night session, Naomi has been in touch with them to link up for some activities and get their runners involved with GoodGym so it was good to meet their run secretary in person. Before the session Rachel met with a local couple on the steps at River Gardens to find out more about how GoodGym volunteers can help clean the steps ready for summer visitors, keep an eye out for a date for this session to get involved.

A great session where the team made Darley Park a little cleaner for local residents to enjoy and caught up about upcoming sessions. Thanks to everyone who made the session.
