Logging good deeds
4 GoodGymers made their way to help the Ham and Petersham Sea Scouts in Richmond.
- Saturday, 25th of March 2023
- Led by Monika Kohlmaier
The sea scouts leader made sure the four of us had our hands full, so firstly we swept away the driftwood and debris that the overnight high tide had washed in. This warmed us up nicely for the main event: shifting a number of huge logs. Chris and Russell bravely stepped into the boggy woods and brought the logs out to the fence where Beth, Sam and Suze collected them and carried/rolled them on to a transporting trolley. It was all going so well until we frontloaded the trolley too much and it gave way under the great weight it was bearing.
The final task of the day involved digging soil and moving it in wheelbarrows. After all this hard work, a coffee and cake at Tide Tables was a well deserved reward!
