On a glorious Saturday morning, regulars Steve ‘GoodGym Gloves’ Lee and GoodGym celebrity Beth ‘500 and Counting’ Hoskins dropped by Mrs A's house to help out with some gardening.

Mrs A is delightful and after talking through her plans for the garden that had overgrown a little, we all decided to focus on one very large, very prickly bush that was crowding the two pathways to and around the house. Armed with loppers and shears, plus a second caffeine hit of the morning for Steve courtesy of a cuppa from Mrs A, we set to work trimming. And trimming. And chopping. And shearing.

After a while Beth and Steve could see each other from opposite sides of the hedge, so we knew we were making hedgeway. Sorrynotsorry.

The thorns and branches were tidied up, and after no fewer than 7 bags were stuffed with the prickly buggers we did a quick sweep and had a chat with Mrs A who was happy with her smaller, neater, albeit it brown in patches, hedge. She can now appreciate the view and start thinking about some of the prettification of her garden now that one of the bigger jobs has been done.

With a wave goodbye for now, Beth and Steve popped down the road for a well earned brunch.
