Another instalment of a classic lunchtime mission. The whole endeavour took 1 hour and 5 minutes. This time the volume of the order from Not-a-Fussy-Gentleman was a bit extreme. I normally don't shy away from carrying a lot of groceries but today's list had a quantity of 4 of almost each item (is that Mr M's favourite number?!). When Mr M handed me £50 I had to finally bring up the topic of the £20 shopping limit. He showed me the empty fridge and I said I will do what I can but we still had to do the cuts in the list. I suggested going down on the quantity of soaps and washing liquid bottles. I didn't know well all the prices, so we did not finish the scaling down exercise. I promised I will buy all the items but will have to reduce the quantity of at least some of them. Mr M, as usual, was not too fussy about that and thanked me for my help in advance. My cuts on the items' quantities were not too aggressive and I still ended up with quite a big order which I fit in a medium-sized backpack and two shopping bags. When I was carrying the goods back, I had a thought that I could possibly fulfill the original request and not break my back in the process - but that would be setting a bad example for myself and other GoodGymers who would come to help Mr M in the future. I'm sure the Not-a-Fussy-Gentleman should have enough supplies to last him for over a week.
