Islington

Mission

Leaves no stone unturned

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Islington.

  • Anthony Meyer
  • Qiao PENG

Sunday, 11th of December 2016

This Sunday, Qiao and Anthony were lucky enough to meet Islington resident and former landscape gardener Ms E and spend the morning ridding her garden of leaves and stones.

After a chat and a cuppa, Ms E decked us out with rakes, bin bags, (brand spanking new!) gardening gloves and plastic bags tied over our trainers and set us to work under the watchful gaze of her cat Leaves -– who managed to stay out of the bin bags.

The hours and the leaves flew by and once we finished, it was back inside for another cuppa, some healthy snacks, and more reproachful looks from the resident cat. But if Leaves wasn’t always exactly welcoming, Ms E more than made up for it with her fantastic hostility, captivating stories and wonderful good cheer.
