On a dark, wintery night in Barnsley, seven spectacular runners essembled to run to Barnsley's carers garden to leaf no stone unturned!

Tonight we were joined by a new runner Kate who had come all the way from Italy to join us, for one night only! Show her some support here Shout out to the Sheffield crew showing their support tonight at GG Barnsley, thanks to Steve, Helen and James. Also great to see our two devoted GG Barnsley runners Sharon and Mairead!

After a quick warm up we headed off together through Barnsley town centre, past the station and up the hill to the carer's garden. Gordon was happy to see us as always and had two tasks for us to get on with. We split into two teams, one inside cleaning the cobwebs, surfaces and floors in the cabin and the other outside cleaning the cobwebs and collecting the masses of leaves.

Steve, Sharon and Kate got to work on the leaves outside, of which there were many, whilst the others were inside. Once the inside was looking beautiful, we all gathered together outside to finish up collecting, bagging and moving the leaves. Gordon was very happy with everything we'd done and was already planning what we would do on our next visit when we said our goodbyes!

On the way back, we did a quick fitness session outside the train station, which included walking lunges, high knees, bum kicks, step ups and suicides! Everyone put lots of effort in and it was a great end to a chilly night! We said our goodybyes to the Sheffield crew and made our way back to Shaw Lane for a quick stretch and home time! Another fun night at GG Barnsley! :-)
