Fresh from volunteering at Graves Junior parkrun, four intrepid Goodgymers made their way across town to Heeley to lend a hand at Alexandra Road Community Garden. Our task was to clear up leaves on the freshly mowed grass, and to clear the borders of any general debris. We filled several binbags with leaves, mown grass and branches - though unfortunately we didn't get round to filling up Naomi's 'manure' bag with material, which she'd wanted us to use. The grim & drizzly weather meant nobody stayed as long as usual, but we were sure to get in a group picture.

The garden has recently won a Green Apple award for 'Best Environmental Practice'; the trophy and certificate for which we all admired! We look forward to visiting this little green space and the team again in the New Year.
