merci à Alex pour le run pun

Bonjour et bienvenu au rapport. Je vous présente l'alphabet français:

  • A is for Agility - achieved with a domes and dishes game. Domes cheated because dishes cheated. Cheating at GoodGym? C'pas vrai!

  • B is for Bordeaux, la ville la plus belle du monde. Will have to visit Belgium one day :) (it's also le vin que Axel spilt on the Shaun wig causing all this nonsense in the first place)

  • C is for Clarissa and Robert. Lovely first timers to GoodGym who were a little concerned early on that the entire evening would be in French. Ooh la la

  • D is for Drinks, at the pub, afterwards

  • E is for Endurance, which was needed for a full night of running, including travelling to and from for some of us

  • F is for Cinquante. The number of good deeds Steve did to earn his black GoodGym t-shirt. Nice one Mr Coman!

  • G is for GoodGym. C'est nous :)

  • H is for Hills. We worked on arm drive, lifting our knees high and "triple extension" all of which helped us get up the hill a little faster.

  • I is for Indian File. We lined up single file and the person at the back ran to the front. Répétez

  • J is for le jogging. A good way to warm up and cool down

  • K is for Krebs Cycle. A part of cellular respiration. Named after Hans Krebs, it is a series of chemical reactions used by all aerobic organisms to generate energy. Its importance to many biochemical pathways suggests that it was one of the earliest parts of cellular metabolism to evolve. (yes, like for most of my essays at Uni, I did copy + paste that from Wikipedia and then add random characters in a white font to get around plagiarism detectors. Just kidding, I am so old we used OHPs when I was at Uni. Seems archaic to some of you, I'm sure, but I feel that the quality of "notes" provided for University lectures declined significantly when PowerPoint was introduced as a standard tool. They began to read like the contents page of a book rather than a succinct summary of the topics discussed. I digress [incidentally, the word digress is formed from the latin "di-" meaning aside and "gradi" meaning to walk. Did anybody have to take Latin at school? I had to do three years of it and can only remember a couple of words now {Ego sum Caecilius}. I did see my old Latin teacher in the queue at Sainsbury's a couple of years ago though and nobody believes this, but he was standing there reading a Latin vocab. book])

  • L is for le and la. Nobody knows when to use which.

  • M is for Monkey. There were no monkeys tonight, but I do love a monkey 8(:|)

  • N is for North London Half. Bravo à Camden regulars Sophie, Beth, Beth , Freya, Megan, Claire, Pritesh and Will

  • O is for Ow, ow, ow, ow! Why are we doing the plank? I thought we'd finished?

  • P is for Paarlauf - Swedish for "pair run". We organised ourselves into pairs and spent 6 minutes running a loop. Your run time is your partner's recovery time and vice-versa

  • Q is for Queen's Crescent. We didn't go there

  • R is for Running of course - we did loads of it

  • S is for Strength - a few of us proved how strong we were by chucking in a couple of press ups at the end of the plank

  • T is for Task. Wut?

  • U is for Urban Fruits - we nommed these tasty little treats down to refuel after our run

  • V is for Vingt-sept. The number of attendees

  • W is for Walk recovery to ensure you're fully prepared for the next rep

  • X is for - X IS FOR NOTHING! IT'S A STUPID LETTER AND I ALREADY HAVE TO THINK UP SOMETHING FOR EVERY OTHER LETTER OF THE ALPHABET PLUS A PUN! WHAT AM I STEPHEN HAWKING‽

  • Y is for Yasso 800s. We didn't do these, but Y is a difficult letter and I thought I'd mention that I am not a fan of their predictive ability. "Necessary but not sufficient"

  • Z is for Zut alors! (thank you, Tricolore)

Thank you for having me, Camden, I was truly éblouie par la nuit

Simon

Big thanks to Simon for captaining the Good(gym) Ship Camden last night. Great work out. One slight issue with the run report... you didn't have to think of a pun... :)
