Jacqueline and Steve moseyed down from Hilly Fields parkrun to join Phil at our long-standing-kinda-monthly Saturday Mission at Marsha Phoenix Memorial Trust.

Sue greeted us with catch-up chat, tools and plenty of bins and buckets to gather all the weeds and cuttings from the front and back gardens. Since the summer, the lawns have turned from a peaky and patchy yellow to thriving green, and needed a second cut in as many weeks to get it in shape for the winter.

After a flurry of pruning, weeding and a bit of dancing in a compost bin to compress all the vegetation we were gathering, we shared our plans for the weekend and were wishing each other well as we parted ways.

Keep an eye out for this mission popping up on the website every month or so - there is a biscuit and tea break, if helping out such an amazing organisation wasn’t reward enough!
