Five of us paid our weekly Wednesday visit to St Anthony’s Church and the Antz Kidz Activity Centre.

We love visiting our friendly task owners as they always greet us so warmly and spoil us with snacks and drinks. We're not in it for the gifts of course as we love assisting wherever we can, but nonetheless, we are always so touched by their kind gestures...

They have even started getting the tunes ready for us to work to - and for Sara to have a bit of a boogie at the same time as well.

*Do you mind if I cut in? *

Today we enjoyed a lively Irish folk music playlist that we found kind of therapeutic as we rolled up our sleeves and brushed up on our decorating skills, picking up from where we left off from the previous week on our indoor painting task.

We each took a corner of the room and got to work on brightening up the walls. Jenni and Gauri tackled one side of the room, while Pam and I (Sandy) worked on the opposite, with Sara helping out everywhere else in between.

As a bit of a novice to this kind of activity, Sara was also able to fill us in on the process of 'cutting in' the walls, before switching to using rollers to finish things off.

Keep rollin' rollin' rollin'

Between us, we successfully managed to cover the majority of the room, and at times ourselves, with a fresh coat of white. Our brush strokes certainly paid off as we were able to transform the walls, which were turning ever so slightly duller as time inevitably passes, and help to freshen them up and give them a new lease of life - which was extremely rewarding to see in comparison to last week when we first started.

We plan to return next week to help get the room in order for the site's upcoming activities taking place later this year and also help them tend to their gardens again once the weather perks up.
