Hill Your Boots Up

1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Wandsworth.

The sun was shining, the sky was blue and the GoodGym t-shirt was on. Today’s mission was to collect a prescription for Mr C and deliver it to his door.

I had to give Mr C a quick call to get some of his details, which was easier said that done as he was a little hard of hearing! ‘May I ask what your date of birth is please?’ ‘My data bird? Pardon, I can’t hear you, I’m a bit deaf!’.

Fortunately he managed to share the information I needed, and I set off on my sunny run across the Thames to Putney. Confidently I stopped outside Boots, and walked in, feeling a little jammy there was so queue, no waiting, and the luxury of air con! The pharmacist asked for the details, which I handed over, but apparently Mr C wasn’t on the system. She asked if his prescription had definitely come through from his GP. ‘I’m not sure’, I said, and showed her my Mission Confirmation email... ‘Ah. You’re at the wrong Boots - the one you want is just up the road!’ 🤦🏻‍♀️. Take two then, as I ran the 120 metres between the two stores (complete with a kindly gentleman cheering me on).

Luckily, there wasn’t a queue at this Boots either, and the pharmacist there asked me the same questions. ‘Hang on, do you know if it has definitely come through?’ she asked. You’re joking, I thought to myself, surely there isn’t another Boots down the road and I’ve got the wrong one again! Thankfully, her colleague came over to have a look, and they managed to get it sorted. I finally had the revered prescription, and now all to do was to drop it off.

Easier said that done, as the pills and I went up the Putney Hill (which was pretty ‘med’-ly in that heat), and got lost in the underpass before eventually arriving at Mr C’s. You can sweat your boots that the mission was completed at long last, Mr C was presented with his prescription and I had the run back down the hill home (plus completing the GoodGym Challenge for H&F trainer Beth’s birthday).
