Helping to clear Mrs A's plate

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Westminster.

Nicky and I rocked up to the front of Mrs A's block of flats within seconds of each other, which was pretty lucky given the thunderstorm and torrential rain heralding our arrival.

Our task for the evening was to help Mrs A unpack some boxes after her move into her new flat.

Unfortunately, it soon became clear that there wasn't very much we could do this evening: some of the areas into which we were to unpack items (such as the wardrobe and the bathroom cabinet) needed to be fixed and/or fitted to a wall, and Mrs A felt that there wasn't much point in us putting things in them when they'd shortly have to be removed for the fitting/fixing.

Nevertheless, Nicky rescued a glass plate that had fallen down the side of the cooker and I found Mrs A's walking stick, which had somehow gone walkabout. We also told Mrs A that we would ask Goodgym HQ to arrange another visit to help unpack when everything had been fitted properly.

In total, we were there for about an hour (mostly chatting). It's difficult to believe that Mrs A is as old as she claims to be, especially when she dresses in such beautifully bright summer clothing! Whoever signs up to complete this task will be pretty lucky as she's promised more chat and a cup of tea to the next Goodgym-ers that go :)
