It was nice to bring some Easter cheer to Mrs S today. She is looking forward to her daughter and grandchildren visiting in the week.

We chatted about whether lager is nicer than cider and both agreed that lager is generally nicer but cider is nice in the hot, summer months.

This led her to reminiscing about spending Saturday afternoons sitting in the sun outside the pub with her best friend, supping on half a lager each and putting the world to rights.

She also recalled vivid memories of the street parties held to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's coronation and her Silver Jubilee.
