Happy and (Hopefully!) Healthy Heroes Hurtling Homewards Having Hunted for Horse and Hound

We were halved in number compared to last week, but there was definitely nothing half-hearted about our efforts.

On Saturday we ran, or in the case of Helen, hiked, a 5k route in tribute to parkrun. Helen went through Hollington, where she saw a variety of signs and a map associated with the village. Other signs were spotted, too, Gwyn saw Hen Gei Llechi, and Katherine picked up Heath Avenue and a pretty floral display by Holly Avenue.

Helen saw some actual holly, as did Tracey; hers was in a high hedge, and she included her hand in the picture in an attempt to distract attention from her home-done haircut! Had she only know that one of the other runners would spot a hair salon on their route! That was Gwyn, who lives near the sea, and his route took in the local harbour, where he saw headsails, a Hunter Horizon and one of the hills on his route, with a hotel on it.

A bit further along the river was HMS Indefatiguable, then a house (Plas Newydd, near Llanfair­pwllgwyngyll­gogery­chwyrn­drobwll­llan­tysilio­gogo­goch) and the harbour for HMS Conway. As well as reliably continuing his car theme, finding a Hyundai, Peter spotted Haven House, a children's hospice. Tracey also saw a house, rather less spectacular than the others, but it did have a sign with a horse on in front of it. She and Helen then went on to see actual horses, and Tracey also spotted a horse box.

And on the subject of horses, both Katherine and Helen also saw some horse chestnut trees, and Katherine also saw some hawthorn. Helen saw a hedge, and her hands also made an appearance in a cheerful hello. Another partial hedge at the edge of a picture from Tracey; but the main focus was the row of hives.

Had there been any bee stings, a trip to the health centre might have been in order, and Gwyn ran past one of those before taking in another couple of hills. There was only a tiny hill in Tracey’s route, (an underpass!) and at the summit, she spotted a poster for a half marathon.

Gwyn's route also took in a bird hide and two artistic holes, and the final picture is of the hound lurking in the grounds of Baskerville Hall, AKA Elvaston Castle (very friendly, though one sniff of my trainers sent him haring off!)
