It has been a good weekend of community missions at Leeds. Today we met with John from Rehoboth restoration group who provided us with a wealth of knowledge about the history of Rehoboth Cemetery and all the brilliant work they have been doing over the last year.

Rob and myself headed down there in bikes and arrived to lend a hand at clearing the branches which had been stacked by the walls of the cemetery blocking access for the electricians who are due to install electricity wires this week. This will enable the cemetery have WiFi, CCTV cameras and charging points. There will be QR codes at different stations around the cemetery for the public to learn about the history.

Rob started on cutting the large branches to enable them to be pulled out easier. We had joined some other volunteers who were already familiar with the task and had warned us it was a bit like played Kerplunk when removing the sticks because there was a danger you could fall through at any given turn!... May even ending up in the cemetery...

We didn't take any risks of course and carefully planned our moves tactfully! We managed to clear rather alot in the hour and a half there.

At the end of the task John thanked us for the help and mentioned he is keen to see goodgymmers back again to lend a hand!
