Report written by Pennie Varvarides
This week six marvelous GoodGym-ers ran 2.5km (ish) to plant bulbs and rake leaves for Friends of Tottenham Green.
We were joined by GG newbie Magda - give her a cheer and learned Dave's unexpected nickname.
We were supposed to be flyering, but sometimes things don't quite go to plan. Instead, we ran around the block to help our friendly neighbours on the green. Sarah and I even did an extra loop of the circus along the way, to bump it up by an extra 311m.
We met Laura at the task and split into two groups.
For the next 30 minutes the team expertly planted some bulbs in front of the town hall (I was told what the bulbs were called, but I have no recollection of the actual words Laura said... sorry about that - go look in March and see what's there!), and raked the entire front of the Community Garden on the Green.
We then took some tools back, locked up and did some fitness work while Laura did some more bulbing so we could keep hold of the gloves a little longer.
Sarah led the team through some crawls and balances while I locked the storage shed, and then I continued the crawl and core strength theme with some bear crawling and frog jumping. These were turned into animal games of tag, because exercise is more fun when you don't really notice that's what you're doing.
We then hung our very soggy gloves on the trolley so Laura could return the final tools, took all our bags of collected leaves to the pile and said our goodbyes. It was time for a final half sprint back to base for stretches. IT was too wet and slippy for actual sprinting, so we opted for an above casual run pace instead.
We then did all of the stretching and high-fiving.
The end.
Thanks, team!
Two more runs of 2019 to go. The last one will be followed by some eating. Christmas outfits are encouraged!
See you soon!
