Of all the cleaning chores, window cleaning is the last one I would consider worthwhile. I hardly ever attend to it at my flat. I always prefer to go outside instead and experience the world without the glass in the way. But not everyone is so fortunate to move freely - or is as laid back - as I am. Despite my reserve towards clear windows I signed up to help Mr J with that kind of task. I have been to his home before and I remembered that he looked very much like my late grandad who happened to be my all-time top lifestyle guru who kept himself fit by gardening, repairing things and cycling to do any sort of errands. And he did all of that without hearing about GoodGym!

Back to Mr J. He said he remembered my face (disclaimer: I didn't take off my mask today, even in the garden) and even recalled where I am from. He prepared all four windows to be easily accessible and gave me the equipment for the job. He offered me a small ladder as I am "not very tall". I politely refused as I consider myself to be of medium height and I could practically reach every corner of each window without compromising the cleaning quality. "It does not have to be a work of art", Mr J set the expectations, "I don't need a professional window cleaner".

When I entered the kitchen to get to the first window, Mr J rushed to turn down the volume on his radio playing classical music. I said it won't be necessary and that the soundtrack is perfect for window cleaning. "This is Classic FM", Mr J explained. I felt like I was really dealing with art at that kitchen window, having classical music in the background.

I wanted to focus exclusively on the clean windows without smudges, so I tried not to exceed the scope of the task. I wiped the garden door and removed some cobwebs and snails stuck to the window frames though. Mr J offered to make me some tea. I appreciated the idea but I was short on time and also hungry after my previous mission, so I didn't want to exceed my stay at Mr J's this time.

Despite my lack of experience in window cleaning, Mr J appreciated my work and was grateful for the help. If he comes up with more ideas on how to make his home and garden prettier and more comfortable, I may see him again in the future!
