Mr R has dementia and his wife is immobile due to a back condition. Their son M does all he can to care for them, but it's tough to do that and keep on top of the house and garden tasks too. So GoodGym came to give them a hand with weeding and tidying up the back garden. M supplied us with garden waste bags and tools, and we got to work pulling out weeds from the low beds that ran along either side. Not long ago M had cut down a tree at the back of the garden that was causing the wall to collapse. New branches had sprouted from the stumps, so we cut it all back again, removed ivy and tidied away some rubbish. Hopefully Mr R can enjoy some September sun in the garden with his son, now that the space is more pleasant to sit in.
