This morning we had a really special task - combating food waste.

2 of us today, myself and project lead Emma, went to 2 supermarkets to collect food that would otherwise be thrown out. 15kgs of donations this morning taken to the wonderful community fridge situated in Exeter Library for anyone to use.

We're back helping with the the next food donations next Saturday! Be sure to sign up!

This task supported
Exeter Community Fridge
We rescue surplus food from supermarkets across the city and give it away to all via a publicly accessible fridge in Exeter Library in order to reduce food waste.

As above. We need volunteers to pick up surplus food from designated businesses and drop it off at the Community Fridge. Quantities of food can vary but we will aim to match individual volunteers to particular pick-ups. Pick-ups are usually in the morning and the fridge is open during library opening hours. We are primarily a sustainability initiative.
