Fight Hub

Julia, Latoya, Rosa, And Gramps joined volunteers from Noel Park Big Local for their weekly community session at the Russell Hub in Russell Park.

For the first half of this task, we thought we were going to have a fight in our hands to earn our good deed as the wintry wind kept some of the community away. We used the time wisely by drinking the free coffee and having a natter about the merits of barefoot shoes.

Then, as kids started coming out of school, a rush of punters arrived at the Hub and it was all hands on deck.

We made coffees, teas, and hot chocolates, helped run the Reading Corner, helped the NPBL volunteers engage the community, and at the end, we helped to clean the Hub up, did the washing up, and tidied things away.
