This afternoon was GoodGym Huddersfield’s chance to join in FareShare’s three day food collection at Tesco’s. “Hi! We’re collecting donations for the food bank” was something we repeated many, many times as we handed out flyers explaining which foods could be donated. (Although sometimes it went a bit wrong and we’d end up saying things like “Good morning! Here are a list of ingredients you may wish to buy!”) The donations began to arrive in our collection trolley and our fellow volunteers, Paulette and her daughter, boxed everything up. A big thank you to the generosity of the people of Huddersfield and now FareShare have a good stock of food to see everyone through Christmas. At the end of a very successful three hour shift we went to The Sportsman and rewarded our selves with a couple of well earned drinks.
