Anthony took out deliveries of food to 9 addresses today, with twelve bags making up the items on route. As you can see in the picture, there was an initial high as he was able to see Sally from the Active Wellbeing Society. Ordinarily, she would be working as a run activator, leading free running sessions around the city. We would often see her and share some time at our local parkrun, Perry Hall. But this is the new, distant meeting place in these serious times.

That initial high faded into some sad news for one of the drops. While delivering one bag of food the person came to the door and informed me that the gentleman who she got the parcel for, had died of covid-19. She had been helping to get him food while he was unwell. A reminder that while we might be longing to resume normality and contact with others, there is still real danger out there for so many people. The measures we’re all taking to socially distance are as important as they were as we begin to relax our restrictions.
