Tonight's run was led by Sarah because Pennie had a family commitment.

At Tottenham Green Pools and Fitness we welcomed new members Sandra and Ben - great to meet you both. We all congratulated Senay on reaching her 50th good deed last week - looking forward to seeing you in your black tshirt Senay! Today's task was helping the Friends of Tottenham Green with some gardening, so after introductions, briefing and a dynamic warm up we headed off for a quick run around the block before meeting Laura on the Green to load up on supplies and cross the road to Tottenham Green East. We've done a bit of work there in the past but it hasn't had our attention in a while. A couple of lights on the Green were out but luckily most of us had our head torches with us, and we got busy litter picking, sweeping leaves and digging over the ground. The leaves were added into the freshly dug ground and dug over once more.

The lack of light hadn't put off a group of locals who were arguing quite loudly when we arrived. Maybe our presence was calming but soon they were all friends again and treated us to some classic tunes including some Michael Jackson. This helped the task to pass quickly and soon we were off again, back over the road.

Yesterday was Halloween and today is Dia de los Muertos, so some spooky circuits were in order.

We quickly got through some creepy spider crawls, mummy vertical mountain climbers, some jump-out-of-your-skin squats, walking dead lunges before finishing with some undead bugs. All great exercises for runners engaging our cores, recruiting fast twitch muscle fibres and working on our coordination (ok, we need some more work on coordination).

Just because Pennie wasn't with us does not mean we left out her favourite burpees though. Please see the video for evidence.

Pennie is now off to New York with GoodGym sponsor New Balance to run her first marathon. We'll all be with you in spirit Pennie, running along behind you and stopping for the occasional burpee.

Thanks Niamh for the pun!

You guys have no idea how tempted I was to make you do single leg DEAD lifts. (ok, the only thing that put me off was having to demonstrate them)
