GoodGym Kingston had the great fortune to host a corporate volunteer day with Leybold and help Chessington Community Fridge with some painting. We were tasked with painting the front porch and the hallway as over time it had gotten quite tatty looking and neglected. Sprucing up the hall helps to create a welcoming atmosphere for all the visitors of St Mary's Centre.
The Leybold team arrived with tins and packets of food which they generously donated to the Community Fridge. After a round of teas the work commenced. Rollers and paintbrushes were dished out and paint started going up on the walls. The marks and sad magnolia paint were soon hidden and a pastry break mid-morning gave us chance to see how much progress had been made. Everyone was soon keen to get the job done in the time available.
After a couple of discussions about the best painting playlists, work carried on. The woodwork was coated in bright white satinwood and the walls gleamed. Before we knew it it was time to wipe the drip marks off the floor, rinse the brushes and hoover up. A moment was spent admiring the work before the team had to get back to their proper jobs.
Thanks so much, Leybold, you did a fantastic job and have made a real difference to the visitors of this busy community centre.
